Mornings These Days

Mornings These Days

It seems like a lifetime ago that I was rushing out the door every day and running to the train. Waking up early to get things done before almost an hour of commute to the office with what felt like 20 lbs of computer and lunch.

Most days I wouldn’t see my apartment in the light of day. Most days I wouldn’t have the time to eat that lunch.

Things are feeling different these days. The world is taking  pause to reconsider what we felt was normal and I’m doing the same.

Breakfast is a thing now and so is lunch.  There’s more sleeping and less rushing. I’ve cleaned every corner of my apartment and under the bed — yikes. How does that much dust get under there?

The windows are open and kitchen is active everyday. In a way there feels like a lot more life here these days and I’m ok with that.

Some days are hard but I’m holding onto hope that we will be out of this soon and getting to know a new normal.  One where we keep lunch time and we pause to take in the sunshine.

In the mean time I’ll be here leaning into a new morning routine and sharing with all of you what happens when we slow down and look around.
